Loud and faint, perceptible and obscured, the group exhibition High on Distortion, Low on Reception explores the sounds of our present – layered with noise, lost in resonance. At the core is their role as communication, sensation, and cultural experience.

The two live sound sessions are dedicated to listening as a practice of turning toward the unfiltered or the seemingly disruptive.

Schulklasse, unsere Klasse? Was macht gerade unseren Klang aus? Ist der Sound jeder
Klasse anders? Und vor allem, wo klinge ich in dieser Gruppe? Innerhalb der Ausstellung komponieren die Schüler*innen gemeinsam ein Klangstück, das ihre Klasse widerspiegelt.

Understanding queerness not as an identity but as a strategy in times of change, the exhibition is a project within the festival Synergies of Solidarity organized by Queer Art Spaces Vienna celebrating the art and community. after the last ready-made curated by Dorian Bonelli and Frederik Marroquín focuses on textile work, crafting, and sensitivity.

What if mess is the method?
Here, art is made in the margins – between night feeds and school runs, between loss and life. It is made amidst leaking bodies and small sticky hands, in stolen minutes, in the gendered debris of daily life.

From Mexico to Albania, from former Yugoslavia to Afghanistan, from East Germany to Syria, there live generations of people whose sense of reality shattered from one moment to the next: a major shift in their country’s political landscape transformed every aspect of their daily life. Off the Precipice is a curated group exhibition with ten artists from different contexts where such a rupture took place.
