M-I-A-U-SEUMSREIF! ART FOR TWO AND FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS
The Interspecies Art Hub (IAH), together with AgidS - The Academy Goes to School, is organising a two-part workshop for pupils as part of the exhibition ‘Start Sniffing’ at Kunsthalle Exnergasse.
Animals have always been part of art. They have been used as motifs, materials or symbols. Today, however, animals also appear as artists themselves. This is referred to as ‘interspecies art’, i.e. art that is made by animals or in collaboration between different species. This workshop deals with the question of whether and in what way animals can really be creative and who can be considered an artist in our society.
The workshop will take a closer look at the relationship between humans and animals in art. It is about art for, with and by animals. The pupils will experience art, work on their own works of art for animals and learn more about animal welfare and our coexistence.
