KEX AT PARALLEL VIENNA

PARALLEL VIENNA will take place for the ninth time in Vienna from September 7th to 12th, 2021 and is sticking to its approach of using temporarily empty buildings as a presentation platform for contemporary art - this year in the former Semmelweisklinik (Hockegasse 37) in Vienna's 18th district. 

In the project statement of KUNSTHALLE EXNERGASSE, Marlene Maier and Olena Newkryta present a spatially staged teaser of the upcoming exhibition Solid Roof, Severe Weather, which speculates about the future of cities along social and economic fault lines. As a reference to the infrastructure of the exhibition itself, set pieces of the exhibition display meet an excerpt from the audio installation Sonic Boom by Michael Simku.
