Miracle in the Garbage

Anra Naw

Naw will make amulets for the Viennese art audience. As a point of departure, she follows chukchi amulet traditions and beliefs that she grew up with. Instead of using objects found in nature in Chukotka, she uses objects found in flea markets and trash. Encountering and discussing with a member of the audience, Naw composes an amulet precisely designed for just that person’s needs.
