Urban Fringes
The international Social Design students at the University of Applied Arts Vienna unfold a broad and comprehensive spectrum of urban fringes in connection with the reciprocal perceptions of rural and urban inhabitants. Disparate romanticising narratives, shifting prejudices, old and new migration movements in one direction or the other, different planning concepts, and issues of supply infrastructures are up for discussion, along with the question whether visions of urban survival haven’t been honed upon the periphery of the city since longer.
