Bildbeschreibungen in Körperhaltungen
Image descriptions in front of living objects, seated;
Image descriptions of things not there, standing.
Image descriptions from an undefined angle, lying down…
Image descriptions typically begin with the eye. Their purpose is to represent the object of interest in a factual and accurate manner (so factually and so accurately that the image does not need to be there). Moreover, they can emphasise aspects that are important for a later analysis/interpretation, etc. Image descriptions rarely abandon (despite due representation) the descriptive language.
On behalf of the Vienna Pataphysical Society and in the framework of the exhibition How exactly like the object, how beautiful! How exactly like the object, how ugly! we will delve into image descriptions while seated, standing, and lying down, while hanging out. The descriptive language will be a pleasure or an impediment depending on posture, even when the object is elsewhere or being exchanged at a given moment.
The workshop takes place in the framework of the exhibition “HOW EXACTLY LIKE THE OBJECT, HOW BEAUTIFUL! HOW EXACTLY LIKE THE OBJECT, HOW UGLY!“
